The Parlotones Carbon Free Concert at The Lyric Theatre
South Africa's hottest rock band, The Parlotones, will rock against global warming at The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino on 21 January this year in a concert that aims to raise awareness of the
CarbonWorx Carbon Free campaign.

The Parlotones are resolute fighters in the battle against global warming and have supported initiatives such as Live Earth, Earth Hour and Live Earth's Run for Water. They encourage ordinary South Africans to play a role in solving the carbon emission problem and contributing to environmental change.

As such, they are standing firmly behind the Carbon Free Campaign, which aims to reforest parts of South Africa with indigenous trees. Carbon Free is a joint effort between SABC3 and CarbonWorx - a subsidiary of the telephony company Foneworx.

A melodic alternative sound and darkly romantic lyrics have turned The Parlotones into superstars, as well-known for their radio hits as they are for their polished live performances. The band's debut album Radiocontrolledrobot took two years to reach gold status and the follow-ups A World Next Door To Yours and Stardust Galaxies were certified platinum within a matter of months. The concert at The Lyric will showcase the band's passion and professionalism with a selection of their best-loved tracks.
